Pressure relief valves

A pressure equalization valve for a cold room is designed to balance the pressure between the inside and the outside of the cold room. This is necessary because the volume of the air inside the cold room changes as the temperature changes. When the temperature drops, the air contracts, creating negative  pressure. Without a pressure equalization valve, the door can become difficult or even impossible to open. When the temperature rises, the air expands, creating positive pressure. This can push the door outward or place unnecessary stress on the cold room structure.
