LINUM GROUP builds spectacular site in Kortrijk-North
Fred Vanderbeke, alongside his son Jan who also works for the Linum Group, has unveiled plans for a new site at Kortrijk-North. This will be an architectural landmark. The move is necessary because of the large growth, year after year, of the Vanderbeke family's four companies. In Kuurne, Linum was recently crowned "company of the year".
The design for the new building was commissioned to the V2-Architects office from Rumbeke. Linum Europe is, of course, the ' central ' builder of the project. "In the new building we are bringing all the companies of our group of companies together, both the offices and the warehouse," says marketing manager Robbie Naessens. "Thanks to the continuous growth of the Linum Group – first with Plastibac in 2010 and then with Xilio in 2017 – we had no other choice, because we had outgrown Kuurne."
Creative approach
The new site has an area of about 34,000 m², of which more than 18,000 m² is being built on. The Linum Group is working in partnership with the young and enthusiastic architectural firm V2-Architects from Rumbeke. Furthermore, Willem Benoit, a young and creative interior designer, has been hired. Benoit is responsible for the interior of the showroom and the offices. The constructor Alheembouw-Valcke will start the works in the first week of September, and it is expected that the new building will be completely finished by the end of 2019.
The Linum Group is one of the leading businesses in West Flanders. Founded by the über-dynamic Fred Vanderbeke, the group today comprises four companies: Linum Europe (distributor of non-food catering components for refrigeration, air conditioning or ventilation installations and industrial kitchens), Fermod (hardware), Xilio (HVAC solutions) and Plastibac (plastic stacking solutions).
